SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Earlier last week a man in Springfield was arrested on numerous Felony charges related to assault.

Michael Campbell, 47, who stands out because of his numerous face tattoos, has a lengthy criminal history, including prior convictions for sexual assault, several instances of failing to register as a sex offender, burglary, grand theft, escape from custody, stealing, and resisting arrest.

It’s alleged in court documents over the course of a few hours the evening of July 31 Campbell assaulted and threatened numerous acquaintances and neighbors near his residence on Olive Street.

He is charged with:

During the altercations court documents state he used various weapons to threaten and strike people including a shovel, pickaxe, machete and pitchfork.

No one suffered life threatening injuries in the attacks.

He is currently compliant sex offender according to Missouri State Highway Patrol information, he is registered to the address where these incidents occurred.

He appeared in court Friday and was given a court appointed attorney. He remains in the Greene County Jail.
