CAVE CREEK, AZ — Damage has been repaired to one of Cave Creek's water pumps which sparked town officials to ask residents to conserve water on Friday.

Town officials say the water was pumping at a reduced rate of flow to the water treatment plant.

The reduced flow rate was because of a storm surge that damaged a pump on the town's Central Arizona Project water pipeline.

Residents were asked to avoid washing clothes and dishes, shut off irrigation, avoid filling pools, and any other water usage.

The town says the conservation was needed until repairs could be made and water reservoirs could be brought back to safe levels.

The pump has since been repaired and residents can continue using water as usual.
